FOO dog or Chinese guardian lion

Statues of guardian lions, in pairs as a manifestation of ying and yang, were traditionally placed in front of imperial palaces. They were believed to have protective powers, one for the infrastructure and the other for the people inside. Also known as FU, which can be translated as prosperity.

The Anglo-Saxon concept of the family office aims to create a structure for wealthy families to take control of certain aspects of asset management and day-to-day life.

The family office's tasks range from asset allocation, banking supervision, consolidated reporting and performance attribution to wealth tax optimization, family succession planning, philanthropy and real estate management.

Often, several families join forces to form a multi-family office to reduce costs.
